Our garage is full of our old living room furniture that I have on Craig's List right now so we can only park one car in the garage. I have been parking the van in driveway for the last 3 weeks or so - no big deal. Last night when I got home I really had my hands full of junk that I was bringing into the house and I accidentally forgot to lock the car doors (which I normally do).
This morning I get into the van and see my watch laying on the passenger seat - it should be in my change holder on the dash by the cup holder. I look at my change holder and notice that all my quarters are missing but the dimes, nickels and pennies are still there. Strange, but I thought, Jim must have needed some quarters for soda at work today or something. Again, no big deal.
I am driving Logan to school and look down into my clutter catcher between my 2 front seats and notice that my big cup of change is missing. OK, now I am mad. I call Jim and ask him why he took all my change out of my van. He says, "What change, I didn't take any change out of your van today." I explain to him that all my quarters were missing and my big cup of change was gone.
Apparently, some smart ass got in my van last night, took my big cup of change and rooted through my other loose change taking only the quarters. What the hell???! They leave my Fossil watch on the seat, leave my GPS which was right next to the cup of change, leave all my CD's - nothing else was touched! Thank God they didn't take the other stuff too, but I feel so violated! Anyone who has been to my house knows the quiet little street I live on. Someone could fart in the cul-de-sac and the neighbors would all know, yet someone has the balls to sit in my van in the driveway and selectively decide what amount of money they would steal. No use making a police report or anything because it was probably less than $50, but I will be sure to let ALL the neighbors know to keep their cars locked. I am really, really mad about this!

That is crazy. I am glad you are all safe.
I'm sorry that this happened to you. I had something similar happen to me. My van was parked in the drive way and it was unlocked. Someone got in the van and took my camera bag out (my camera was in the house, but my extra lense was in the bag). I found my camera bag with the lense still in it in our neighbors yard. I didn't notice anything else missing so I didn't report it to the police.
But like you, I felt very violated. I guess you should be thankful that there was nothing else taken.
